Thecar rolled 12 times. By the time it came to a stop, the roof had crushed in on thedrivers' side, killing Ralph, in what should have been a benign crash. At the time the 1998 Suburban was built, other roof designs were readily and inexpensively available that would have saved Ralph's life.
